Biography:  The late Don Glover capped a great high school career at basketball-rich Paris High School by starting for Hall of Fame Coach Ernie Eveland’s 1947 IHSA state championship team.  Don scored 7 points in the title game as Paris defeated Champaign High School 58-37.  Don Glover was named to the 2nd team all-tourney list.  

Don went on to play for 3 seasons with the great Eastern Illinois University teams of 1948-51 which compiled an 80-23 record and made three trips to the NAIA National Tournament.  4 times, Glover was named all-conference and 3 times he was the Panthers’ MVP.  Don was the team captain for his final 2 seasons.  Don played with his Paris teammate as, John Wilson, as Wilson set the Panthers’ career scoring mark.  Many of those points came on assists from Don Glover.  Don shot better than 50% from the field as a senior and was among the nation’s top small college free throwers.  He earned academic honors at EIU while earning 11 letters in baswketball, baseball, and cross country.
