Biography:

Dan Godfread played on 2 consecutive 20-game winners at Stillman Valley High School.  He set the school record for career points and the single season record for rebounds.  He was an all-conference, all-area selection by The Rockford Register-Star and an honorable mention all-state player in 1985. Dan went on to play at The University of Evansville.

The 6′ 9″, 250 pound Godfread became the leading shot blocker in Midwestern Collegiate Conference history with 226.  He ranked 7th on the all time University of Evansville career scoring with 1,386 points and 7th in career rebounding with 737 boards.  In 1989, Dan was named to the all Maui Classic Team.  He was an All-Midwestern Conference choice as a junior and 4 times was named player of the week for the league.  He was 2nd in career field goal percentage at 60%.  He scored a college career high of 40 points in 1989 in a victory at Loyola University-Chicago that cllinched the conference title for Evansville.  Dan helped Evansville to the 2nd round of the NIT in 1988 and the 2nd round of the 1989 NCAA tournament.  The Evansville coach, Jim Crews, called Dan “the hardest worker I’ve been associated with.”  

Dan was drafted by the New Jersey Nets of the NBA in 1990.  He played briefly for the CBA before stints with Minnesota and Houston of the NBA.  Dan continued his career playing in Europe for teams in Italy and Spain.
