Biography: Dan is the author of Men of Granite, a book published in 2007 detailing Granite City High School’s 1940 HSA State Basketball Championship.  The book explains how the local team rallied the city and brought it together.  Dan spent 37 years as a sportswriter with stints at The Dallas Morning News, The Milwaukee Sentinel, the Kenosha News and the Waukegan Sun.  He has won numerous awards durng his long journalism career.  Dan passed away on April 20, 2020.
