Biography: America’s winningest high school basketball program at Centralia has been blessed with great teams, players and coaches. John Hickey is a part of that great heritage having fed Orphan players at his restaurant for many years. His guidance to the players and attendance at games have certainly added to the magic that Centralia basketball ignites. Stories of escapes from hospital beds and protective wives by Hickey and the late Dr. Orland M. Sanders have become classics in the annals of Centralia basketball.
