Biography: Frank Vrona played high school basketball and football at Oregon High School before attending North Central College where he was a member of the undefeated 1933 football team. Since moving to Berwyn, Vrona has been a rabid fan for Morton East and West basketball teams, attending most games since 1949. Vrona has attended every state basketball tournament for the past 20 years, leading to his 1983 Hall of Fame induction. Basketball is this retired Western Electric employee’s greatest source of entertainment. Vrona managed to be at most suburban Christmas tournaments and was always cheering his favorite teams in regional and sectionals.  Frank Vrona died on September 2, 1992 at the age of 89.
