Biography: Earl Ellingson coached basketball on all levels for 31 years, except head varsity. In that time, he became a devoted booster of York High School of Elmhurst Basketball and worked long and hard developing players to carry on the great basketball tradition. As chairman of the York Physical Education Department for 26 years, Ellingson kept a close eye on York basketball and found many players who played at York. A head baseball coach for 25 years, Ellingson was inducted into the High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1984. Ellingson was truly a great friend of the youth of Elmhurst.
