Biography: George has been a Moline Maroons basketball fan from his earliest days. He recalls Moline’s third-place state finish at old Huff Gym at Champaign. In 1987, he began researching the history of the Moline boys basketball program.  It began as a way to read about his father’s exploits in the 1924 season and quickly became a passion. It led to collaborating on the book 100 Years of Moline Basketball with fellow Hall of Fame inductee Jack Dye.
