Biography: Denny Hutchings served as a guidance counselor at Community Unit School District 300 in Sullivan for more than 30 years. Not long after he started in 1978, he was asked one night to operate the basketball scoreboard.  One night turned into more than 20 years for Hutchings at the scoreboard controls at the time of his induction. He also worked the scoreboard for the junior varsity and frosh-soph teams at Sullivan and he found time to be the official timer for Sullivan football games. This unselfish attitude during the basketball season often kept Hutchings away from home, as much as four nights some weeks, to keep up his scoreboard duties. Hutchings died on February 13, 2019 at the age of 73.
