Friends of Basketball

Alex Clark

Year Inducted: 1988

Category: Friends of Basketball

Schools / Organizations: Tonica High School

Biography: At the time of his induction, Alex Clark coached all three sports—basketball, baseball and track—for 14 years at Tonica High School. His basketball record was 179-148, but it included the tiny school’s only regional basketball championship team. Clark was Tonica’s Athletic Director for 20 years and was an outstanding cross-country coach. In all his endeavors, he was always a great supporter of the Tri-County Conference. Although they were the Tonica foe, Tri-County coaches like Toluca’s Chuck Rolinski, Mid Country’s Ralph Hallam and Roanoke-Benson’s Roger Wiseman have always considered Clark a true friend of high school basketball, not only the Tri-County variety, but statewide.
