Biography: Herb Jannusch was a native of Kankakee.  He was a writer and sports editor of the Kankakee Daily Journal for more than 35 years.  He regularly covered the state basketball finals and was a member of the AP State Rating and All State boards for 10 years.  Herb is a former president of the AP Sports Writers Association.  He was one of the pioneers of the old South Suburban League which included Kankakee HS as a member.  Herb Jannusch passed away on February 13, 1989.
