Biography: Paul Carlson was born February 27, 1928 in Gifford, IL.  He graduated from Rantoul HS in 1946, attended Bradley University for one year before graduating from the University of Illinois in 1951.  After about 9 months of work in the sports department of the Champaign-Urbana Courier, Paul joined the sports department of the Moline Dispatch in 1952.  Paul was named their sports editor in 1954, a post that he held for many years.  Paul passed away on February 1, 1987 at the age of 85.
