Biography: Maurice “Bud” Wittick wrote sports and was the sports editor for the Paris Beacon-News for over 30 years beginning in 1942.  He is considered by many to be one of the best writers that the southern part of Illinois has ever produced.  He also managed his own printing company and served as the Paris Township clerk for 24 years.  A very active person, Bud covered many sports in the Paris area. Bud Wittick died on December 30, 1990 at the age of 68.
