Biography: A Decatur native, David has been covering high school sports and basketball in particular since 1985.  He worked for the Journal Newspapers of Southern Illinois and the Collinsville Herald before joining the Belleville News Democrat in 1995.  David has covered thousands of high school and college games.  Among his contributions to Metro East basketball is writing stories for the Collinsville Schnucks Holiday Classic Program.  He also has covered college basketball extensively, including The University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville, and McKendree University.
