Biography: Lynn Gibbs, the retired superintendent of the schools in Rantoul, officiated high school and college basketball for 27 years. In 1949 and 1950, Lynn worked the IHSA State High School Tournament. He garnered a solid background for officiating by competing in all sports at Gridley High School and in basketball, football, and track at Bradley University where he is a member of the Braves’ Hall of Fame. In addition to his officiating duties, Lynn coached for two seasons at El Paso High School and four seasons at Rantoul High School. Lynn Gibbs passed away on January 26, 2010 at the age of 99.
