Biography: Bobby Joe Mason was one of Centralia’s all time great athletes. He earned all state player honors for Coach Jim Evers then went on to star at Bradley University. While at Bradley, he earned All American acclaim and played on the NIT championship team. After college, Bobby Joe took his talents to the Harlem Globetrotters. Bradley honored him as one of their 15 Players of the Century. He was selected by the Globetrotters as one of their 23 Legends of the game. Bobby Joe Mason passed away on July 4th, 2006; a true All-American sports icon.
