Biography: 

Joe Hosman coached 34 years at (Metropolis) Massac County High School through the 2019-20 season and compiled a record of 654-335. His 2008-09 team finished second in the IHSA Class 1A  state tournament and set the school record for wins at 33-2.  His 2003-04 team went 27-7 and reached the Class A Elite Eight. The 1994-95 team also won 27 games.

Hosman’s teams won 18 IHSA Regional Championships and 3 IHSA Sectional titles. He had 13 20-win seasons and only two losing seasons. The Herrin High School graduate is also a member of his alma mater’s athletic Hall of Fame. Hosman was the head coach for the Class A South in the 2002 IBCA All-Star game.
