Biography: 

Amy Houtzel was a four-year starter at (Piper City) Ford Central High School and went on to a four-year career at Western Illinois University. Her Ford City teams were 96-10 and made two IHSA Class A Elite Eight trips in 1986 (25-1, ranked ninth in final AP poll) and 1987 (28-1, ranked first in final AP poll). In her final three seasons at Ford City she scored 1,243 points (15.5 per game) and had 663 rebounds (8.2 per game). She also had 269 assists and shot 56 percent from the field and 78.7 on free throws.

Amy was a three-year starter at Western. She scored 1,006 career points and averaged 9.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
