Biography:

Bill started his coaching career at Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg in 1954. He was the head coach at Manlius from 1956-1964, where he compiled a 132-69 record, which included 6 holiday, 2 conference and 2 district championships. He also served as head baseball coach at Manlius.

Bill moved on to become head varsity coach at Polo High School from 1965-76, compiling a 165-93 record and winning 6 holiday and 2 conference championships. He spent 20 more years as Polo’s frosh-soph coach from 1976-95 and served as head golf coach for 15 years. His overall varsity basketball coaching record was 297-162. He coached football for 50 years and is a member of the Illinois Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. 

Bill Jenkins died on October 28, 2009 at the age of 76.
