Biography: Cecil Jones was an avid supporter and volunteer to the Flora High School athletic programs beginning in 1946. For 44 years, he was the official timer and scorer for the Wolves. Jones seldom missed any away games. His support was always there no matter what the record. His love of Flora basketball and sports in general stemmed from his high school days when he earned 11 varsity letters from Harter-Stanford Township High School (forerunner of Flora High School). He was a member of the 1939 team which lost 25-22 to second place Paris in the state tournament’s opening round. Jones participated in the state tennis tournament each of his four years of high school. For 43 years, he served as a member of the chain gang for the football team.  Jones was a well-respected Flora citizen. He was one of those rare volunteers who simply worked because of a love for the game.  Although we do not have the information, it is believed that Cecil Jones died several years ago.
