Biography:

Darnall Jones held nine school records when he graduated from (Olney) East Richland High School. Those included career points (1,565) and field goals made (653) and single-season points (708) and rebounds (818). He was the conference player of the year in 1978 and a member of all-area teams in Decatur and Evansville, IN. He repeated those honors in 1979 and added honorable mention McDonald’s All-American and Chicago Sun-Times all-state selections.

Jones scored 916 career points at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and averaged 8.5 points and 3.7 rebounds. He set a school record by playing in 108 straight games and was the team MVP in 1983.
