Biography:
After incurring polio at a young age, Larry became one of wheelchair basketball’s innovators and most dedicated officials. He played wheelchair basketball at the University of Illinois in the early 1970’s and with other teams following college.
Larry became the first National Wheelchair Basketball Association official to call a game from a wheelchair. A member of the NWBA Hall of Fame, he has officiated more than 2,800 NWBA games, as well as multiple IHSA wheelchair state finals.
For his pioneering efforts, Larry was awarded the IBCA Derril Kipp Courage Award in 2026.
