Biography

Megan Lucid was Illinois Ms. Basketball in 1991 after leading (Chicago) Mother McAuley High School to the IHSA Class AA state championship. The team was ranked 23rd nationally by USA Today and she was the USA Today Player of the Year from Illinois.

Megan scored 1,761 career points and had game averages of 20.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.8 steals. She shot 54 percent from the field and 64 percent from the free-throw line. She was a member of the 1990-91 Class AA all-state team and a two-time all-tourney pick at the Elite Eight. 

As a senior, Megan had 79 points and 26 rebounds in three Elite Eight games. She had 24 points and 6 rebounds in the title-game win over (East St. Louis) Lincoln High School, 26 and 5 against (Richton Park) Rich South High School in the semifinals and 29 and 15 in the quarterfinals against Evanston High School. She set a tournament record for most consecutive free throws made at 10.

Megan had 44 points and 16 rebounds as McAuley took third in 1989-90; she was a sophomore on the sectional championship team. She played at DePaul University and was voted to the Conference USA all-newcomer team as a freshman.
