Biography:

Frank Moscardini of Chicago worked basketball and football games for 45 years. He officiated boys’ and girls’ basketball IHSA Regional tournaments and the IHSA state football finals four times. He also worked the Chicago Public League semifinals in football in 2000 and 2001.

For more than 30 years, he served the Athletics Officials Association (AOA) and was Chairman; for 15 years the Oak Park-River Forest Summer League; for 10 years the Independent School League and Northwest DuPage Junior High League; and for five years the Chicago Prep League as assignment chairman.

Moscardini served the AOA, the Central Officials Association (COA) and the Northern Officials Association (NOA) for basketball and football. He served as a clinic teacher for five years.

His honors include induction into the AOA Hall of Fame, the George Young Memorial Award and the Frank Lollino Award in 2002, the IHSA Years of Service Award, the Abe Glick Memorial Award from AOA in 1991 and the AOA, NOA and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Official of the Year honors.

Frank Moscardini died on August 2011 at the age of 75.
