Biography: Eddie Reed was born April 25, 1897 in Manteno and resided his entire life in the small community north of Kankakee. Reed had not missed a Manteno basketball, volleyball or baseball game in the 25 years prior to his induction .  That includes junior high school games as well as high school. For a number of years, this retired bartender had a lifetime pass to Manteno sporting events and is the only non-athletic staff or player who was allowed to ride the school bus with the team to road games.
