Biography:

At the time of his induction, Bernie had just completed his 48th year of officiating basketball. His achievements include working three IHSA Class AA girls state finals. In 2010, the IHSA recognized him as the National Federation of State High School Associations’ Girls’ Basketball Official of the Year for Illinois.

Bernie also is a volunteer official for the Special Olympics and worked games at the USA Summer Games in Orlando, Florida. He was an alternate for the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Germany.
