Biography:  Tom Roland of Rockford became an IHSA Registered official in 1967, a Recognized official for the 1971-72 season and a Certified official the following year.  During Roland’s 23 years of officiating,  he has served boys’ basketball  by working 14 IHSA Regionals, 9 IHSA Sectionals and 5 IHSA Super-sectionals. He worked the state tournaments in 1983, 1984 and 1985.  He also has officiated in 80 holiday tournaments and 20 conference tournaments. Along with his usual partner, Dick Green (who is also being inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 1991),  Tom worked the IBCA All-Star game in Peoria.  For girls’ basketball he has officiated at 6 IHSA Regionals and 2  Sectionals.
