Biography: Bill Rucks graduated from Waukegan Township High School In 1972 as a nine-time letter winner in three sports. Rucks ended his high school basketball career as Waukegan’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder. He was a two-time all-Lake County and all-Suburban League selection. Rucks led the Suburban League in scoring as a senior. He was selected to the Chicago area team as both a junior and senior. He was accorded all-state honors as a senior by the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Daily News, Champaign New-Gazette and the Rockford Morning Sun. In addition, he was a Sunkist and Scholastic Magazine All-American. Rucks graduated from the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana in 1976, lettering two years and was a winner of the George Huff Award. A gentle giant at 7″0′, Rucks taught fifth grade at Mt Pulaski Grade School and was an assistant basketball coach at Mt Pulaski High School.  Bill Rucks died on July 9, 2015 at the age of 61.
