Biography: Leading up to his 2019 Hall of Fame induction, Wardie had been a mainstay as a junior high boys’ basketball coach for nearly 4 decades.  He coached at (Joliet) Washington Junior High School from 1980-83 before moving across town to (Joliet) Laraway Middle School.  At Laraway his teams won 4 IESA State Championships through the 2018 season.  His phenominal 747-88 career record during that same period of time includes 5 IESA state titles, 1-2nd place finish, 1-3rd place finish, and 2-4th place finishes.  His teams have appeared in the state finals 13 times.
