Biography:

Max coached in the Libertyville High School boys’ basketball program for 34 years and was 318-220 in 20 years as head coach. His 1981-82 and 1990-91 teams, which finished fourth in the IHSA Class AA state tournament, won a school-record 25 games. His 1994 team also made the IHSA Elite Eight and the 1993 team reached the IHSA Sweet Sixteen. Sanders’ teams won 3 conference, 6 IHSA Regional and 3 IHSA Sectional titles.  His teams had six 20-win seasons.

As a player, Max played for Libertyville High School and Bradley University.
