Biography: 

For years Ron Schilling supported the game of basketball played in Lincoln. He watched countless games on all levels and remembered plays and players that made a difference on and off the court. Schilling was from northwestern Illinois and played basketball at Warsaw High School. He completed his undergraduate work at Western Illinois University and earned additional degrees from Northern Illinois University.

Schilling was the president at Lincoln College at the time of his induction and was an old-fashioned fan who simply loved watching basketball. Whether it was a Saturday morning Biddy basketball game, junior high, high school or Lincoln College game, Schilling was usually there.

He was a silent fan and creature of habit. Like clockwork, he arrived well before tip-off, bought his bag of popcorn, scouted the opposition and watched until the final buzzer sounded. It didn’t matter who won as long as it was a well-played game.

Schilling died on April 24, 2020 at the age of 79 after a battle with cancer.
