Biography: Dave Shannahan is one of the founding members of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.  He served on its first board of directors.  Dave went over the 500 win mark in 1990 as head boys’ coach at Waterloo High School.  He also served Johnston City High School, Sparta High School, Belleville West High School and O’Fallon High School.  Dave also led the teams at Belleville Area College.  His career spanned 34 seasons as a head coach in Illinois after 3 seasons in Nebraska and Missouri.  His teams won 7 IHSA Regional Crowns and 1 IHSA Sectional Title.  His junior college teams won 3 NJCAA Sectional Titles.  Dave’s golf teams claimed the IHSA State Title on 3 occasions.
