Biography: Hugh Skinner of Princeton is a legend in Bureau County.  For the 33 years he served as sports editor and outdoor editor of the Bureau County Republican,  not only did Skinner focus on Princeton teams, but he was  extremely concerned with the smaller schools in Bureau County. Skinner started at the Princeton paper in March of 1952 and retired in August of 1985.  Skinner developed a huge following of players and coaches, both active and former, along with fans who read Skinner’s accounts of Bureau County activities.
