Biography: Mike Smith compiled a 687-484 record during a 35-year career as a head coach and assistant coach at all levels from freshman through varsity. He started his career at Sumner High School and went 36-33 in three years as head coach. He moved to Okawville High School in 1971 and served as an assistant for Hall of Fame Coach, David Luechtefeld, for 29 years. He was head coach for seven different sports and athletic director for 10 years leading into his induction in 2003. Smith was 307-178 as a junior varsity coach, 153-148 as a sophomore coach and 191-125 as a freshman coach.
