Biography: You might have called Judy Sunderland Dunlap High School’s “top reserve” in basketball. That was true for both the boys’ and girls’ programs. Sunderland was involved for more than 20 years. She hadn’t missed a game in more than 11 years. As a fan, her enthusiasm was limitless. She could be “the roar in the crowd” all by herself. She helped prepare team meals, sewed names and repaired uniforms. She drove team and fan buses and helped chaperone overnight trips. With the girls’ team she added keeping the scorebook and serving as a locker room supervisor. She was the girls’ team’s biggest supporter while finding the time to raise four children, one who has served as the girls’ trainer and one as the girls’ manager. Sunderland also helped establish the Biddy basketball program in Dunlap for fourth through sixth grade boys and girls.  Judy Sunderland died on July 30, 2015 at the age of 70.
