Biography:

Barry Swanson was the boys’ head coach at Galesburg High School from 1980-84 and 1990-96, totaling 203 victories. Galesburg won two Western Big Six Conference titles, five IHSA Regionals and four Illinois State Classic championships.

Barry was head coach at Carl Sandburg College in 1984-85, posting a school-record 31 wins. He coached at Lombard Junior High in Galesburg from 1972-74 and was sophomore coach at Galesburg High from 1975-79. He was a volunteer assistant at Knox College from 2007-2018.
