Biography:

Tony Tuttle distinguished himself in a basketball career at Greenview High School, Lincoln College and Eureka College.

Tuttle was a four-year varsity starter at Greenview, scoring 1,984 career points. Twice he was a unanimous first team all-conference selection in the Lincoln Land and New Salem. During Tuttle’s senior campaign his team went 21-5 while he was third in the state in scoring with a 32.6 ppg average, shot 49.5% from the field and 78% from the free-throw line. He was a first-team all-state choice.

Tuttle averaged 11.7 ppg as a freshman at Lincoln College for a 24-9 team. As a sophomore he averaged 11.8 ppg on a 25-6 team, shot 52% from the field and 81% from the line for coach Al Pickering. Tuttle also scored 28 points in a junior college all-star game.

As a junior at Eureka College, the Red Devils went 16-10 as Tuttle averaged 9.3 ppg in 24 games, had 44 assists and shot 44.1% from the field and 76.1% from the line. Tuttle was the MVP in the Rockford Tip-Off Tourney and the Judson Invitational. He played 22 games as a Eureka senior and averaged 6.3 ppg with 21 assists. He shot 51% from the field and 80% from the line.
