Biography: 

Art has contributed to basketball for many years as an official and a coach. He was a registered IHSA official from 1968-1997, working 4-H, junior high and high school games. He also coached basketball on the youth, junior high and high school levels. 

Art coached at St. Joseph Grade School in Harvard from 1972-81, at Capron Junior High from 1981-2000, at North Boone High School from 2000-2006, and in the North Boone youth program from 2017-2020.  Art Vermett, Jr. died on July 4, 2023 at the age of 73.
