Biography: Don Noort’s basketball talents are well remembered at (Palos Heights) Chicago Christian High School. In his four seasons at Chicago Christian, the school won four Private School League championships. In 1969-70, Noort and Christian won the conference tournament and he was named most valuable player. In 1970-71, Noort and Christian repeated PSL titles and added the Oak Lawn Tournament Championship, where Noort was named most valuable player. Noort led the Southwest area in scoring with 710 points. In the 1971-72 season, Chicago Christian won the Private School League along with IHSA Regional and Sectional championships. Once again, Noort led his area in scoring with 789 points and was named as an all-state player. Noort moved on to the Indiana University, which won the NCAA national championship and the Big Ten crown. In 1973-74 Noort and Indiana settled for the Big Ten championship and the Collegiate Commissioner’s Tournament.
