Biography:
William Bozue compiled 635 wins in his distinguished career of more than 35 years coaching girls’ basketball at Lemont High School. His teams won 17 conference, 5 IHSA Regional and 2 IHSA Sectional titles. His 1980 team went 23-6 and finished third in the first IHSA Class A tournament and his 1983-84 team went a school-record 27-3 and reached the IHSA Class A Elite Eight. Bozue’s teams had 13 20-win seasons.
Bozue was chosen the IBCA District 7 Coach of the Year in 1986, 1987 and 2009. He also coached in the original Prairie State Games women’s open division in 1986 and 1987. He was inducted into the Lemont Hall of Fame in 2010. He was an assistant football and baseball coach and assisted the softball team to a second-place finish in 1988 and third place in 1989.
