Biography: The 1939 Bradley University Braves became famous by playing in the first ever NIT in New York City.  Bradley finished 3rd and brought national prominence to the entire Midwest.  Losing only 8 games in three years the five starters became known as the Famous Five.  They were Carl Shunk, Ted Panish, Ken Olson, Chuck Orsborn, and Dar Hutchins.
