Biography: The Kankakee Community College Lady Cavs earned an NJCAA Division II National Championship at the end of the 1994-95 season. The team earned KCC’s first athletics national title by winning a 94-89 triple overtine thriller over St. Clair County Community College of Michigan. The Lady Cavs finished that season with 34 wins against just 2 losses. The team included sophomores Wendy Dieterlen, Kristen Reeves, Kerri Bartlow, Alicia Harkins, Allison Young and Beth Brown. Freshmen on the squad were Sandra Lamphear, Amy Kieckbusch, Angie Cacello, Jennifer Noel, Jennifer Roberts and Melissa Chasensky. Kieckbusch was named the national tournament most valuabe player. Head Coach was Paul O’Connor. Larry Huffman was the assistant coach. The athletic trainers were Donnie Denson (who became the head coach in 2000) and Yvonne Mills.
