Biography: In 1978, North Park defeated Widener College of Pennsylvania 69-57 to win its 1st NCAA Division III National Championship.  North Park was the 1st number one ranked team to win the championship in its 4-year history.  Sophomore center, Mike Harper, was named as a 2nd team All-American player.  He was the MVP of the CCIW and the championship finals of the NCAA.
