Biography: John scored 1,138 career points at Benet Academy, including 589 his senior year while earning all-state honors.  He helped Benet to a 76-10 record in three years as a starter, including Class AA Elite Eight berths in 1982 and 1983.  John played on Benet teams that contributed to a 102-game home winning streak. He turned down offers from larger schools to play at Cornell University.  By the time he left the IVY League school,  his 1,663 career points ranked No. 2 in school history.
