Biography: B. William Erickson was an all-state player in 1946 from Rockford East HS.  After high school he went on to play for the University of Illinois where he was team captain in 1949 leading his team to an NCAA 3^rd place finish.  At U of I, he lettered all four years and was an All-American player in 1949.  He was noted for his team leadership, desire, and determination.  He was an extremely exciting basketball player to watch.  Bill passed away on September 21, 1987.
