Biography: Phillip graduated from (Harvey) Thornton High School in 1978 as its #4 career scorer and #3 career rebounder.  He led Thornton to a 27-2 record his senior year, earning all-state player and SICA North Conference Player of the Year honors.  Phillip played at Long Beach State University before transferring to Quincy College (now Quincy University), where he helped the Hawks to the NAIA National Tournament as a junior.  In 2000, he founded the Basic Fundamentals basketball program.
