Biography: E.C. Hill had an outstanding career. E. C. was named as a first team Parade All-America player and unanimous All-State player at (Chicago) Whitney Young High School (1989-90). She scored a prep-best 73 points vs. (Chicago) Collins High School. An Illinois Ms. Basketball nominee, she completed her high school career rated as the No. 2 prep prospect in nation behind Lisa Leslie. E. C. moved to Dekalb to begin an outstanding career at Northern Illinois University. She led the Huskies to a 66-26 record and three NCAA berths. Along the way she was tabbed First-Team U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-America, First-Team Kodak District Four All-America, preseason Street & Smith’s and Basketball Times All-America. Her senior season saw her earn and repeat honors as Mid-Continent Conference Player of Year, First-Team All-Mid-Con, and All-Mid-Con Tourney on 24-6 quintet and unbeaten (18-0) loop regular-season champs. She topped Mid-Con and ranked No. 16 nationally in scoring (22.0 ppg. in 1993-94). She was a two-time Huskie MVP. After college E.C. became the first Northern Illinois professional performer. She played for the Chicago Twisters (1995) in the WBA, New England Blizzard (1996-99) and Chicago Condors (1998-99) in ABL, Charlotte Sting (2000), Phoenix Mercury (2001), Los Angeles Sparks (2001), and Orlando Miracle (2002) in WNBA, Chicago Blaze (2002) in NWBL. She won a Silver Medal at US Olympic Sports Festival (1991) and was selected for the US Women’s Junior National Team (1992) and Team USA at World University Games (1993). After her playing days ended, E.C. moved into coaching including a 6-year stint at her alma mater as the head coach. She has also served as an assistant at Arizona and Towson State.
