Biography: Haskell scored 1,588 career points at Geneva High School to set the school’s career record (Note that there was no 3 point rule in high school basketball at this time).  He averaged 27.7 ppg as a senior in 1961, shooting 63% from the field and grabbing 17 rpg.  This production led to the 6’10” forward being named as a Parade Magazine All American High School Player in 1961.  He went on to play in 85 games for Duke University over 3 seasons (remember that freshmen could not play in varsity games at this time).  He was an all ACC performer during his junior year of 1964.  He helped lead the Blue Devils to the NCAA tournament in 1963 and 1964.  The 1964 team reached the championship game only to lose to UCLA, 98-83.  Hack was drafted by the Boston Celtics but did not play in the NBA.
