Biography: Tom averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game his senior year at Oak Park-River Forest High School, graduating in 1976 as the West Suburban Conference Player of the Year. He earned Chicago Daily News all-area and Chicago Tribune all-state honors.  Tom played one season at Baylor University, starting six games and appearing in 19. He transferred to the University of Illinois-Chicago, where he was a three-year starter and averaged 10 points and four assists per game.  Tom died on March 5, 2021 at the age of 62.
