Biography: Sports editor Forrest R. Kyle of the Decatur Review covered high school basketball in Decatur beginning in the 1930’s through the 1980’s. He completed 45 years of sports writing and editing for the Decatur newspaper before his Hall of Fame induction in 1981. A past winner of The Associated Press sports’ writing contests, Kyle is recognized through the state. Part of Kyle’s research included Illinois High School Association data on early state basketball tournaments.
