Biography: Virgil was a teacher in the East St. Louis District 189.  He was instrumental in the formation of the Metro East Black Officials Association, serving as their president for 3 years.  He spent 34 years as an official, highlighted by woring 3 IHSA State Finals each in girls’ basketball and baseball.  Virgil, who is deceased, also worked at (Champaign) Centennial High School.  He officiated numerious games in volleyball boys’/girls’ basketball, baseball, and softball.
